Building a website does not take long because of the amount of coding – it takes long because materials and decisions arrive late. If you know what comes next, the process becomes predictable. This is how I work on a typical project, from the first email to launch.
1. Free consultation and quote (1-2 days)
In the first conversation I ask about your business, your goals and your target audience: who the site is for, what a visitor should do (call, write, buy), and what sets you apart from your competitors. Based on this I send you a concrete quote within a day, listing the pages, the features, the price and the deadline. You can check the starting prices in advance on the pricing page.
2. Gathering the materials (your part)
This step decides the deadline. What I need:
- Logo (ideally in vector or high-resolution format) and your brand colours, if you have them.
- Text for each page, or at least bullet points – I help with editing if needed.
- Photos of your business, products, team. Stock photos work, but your own images are always more authentic.
- Contact details, company information, opening hours, social media links.
- Access to your domain and hosting, or if you do not have them yet, I help you get them.
3. Structure and design (3-5 days)
I create the sitemap and the design of the homepage plus a typical inner page. At this stage anything is still easy to change, so this is where I concentrate the feedback rounds. One round of revisions is included in the price – the point is that the direction gets settled here, not on the finished site.
4. Development and content entry (1-3 weeks)
Building the WordPress site, implementing the design for every screen size, adding the features (forms, online shop, multilingual support) and entering the content. Meanwhile you can follow the progress continuously at a private URL.
5. Testing and launch (2-3 days)
Testing on every device and browser, speed measurement, form testing, SEO settings (titles, descriptions, sitemap, Search Console), cookie consent and privacy pages. Then the site moves to its final domain, with HTTPS.
6. Training and aftercare
In a short video call I show you how to edit text, images and products. I remain available after launch, and if you want, monthly maintenance keeps the site secure and fast in the long run.
How long does it take in total?
Brochure website: 2-3 weeks. Online shop: 4-8 weeks, depending on the number of products and integrations. Event website: 2-4 weeks. The most common cause of delay is late text and photos – if these are ready at the start, we can keep to the shorter deadline. If you are ready, the first step starts on the contact page.
