I built the new WordPress website for this foundation, active since 1991: custom theme, admin-editable content (ACF), master programmes, news and publications, contact form, cookie consent and SEO.
The challenge
The Pro Agricultura Hargitae Universitas Foundation has operated in Miercurea Ciuc since 1991: it hosts the off-campus master's programme of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, accredited adult-education courses, research and publications. The old website ran on outdated technology, was hard to use on mobile, and every update to courses or news required outside help.
The solution
- A custom WordPress theme tailored to the foundation's identity, fast and built mobile-first.
- All content – courses, news, publications, partners, contact – is editable from the admin without code (ACF fields), so the team can update it themselves.
- Contact form with spam protection, cookie consent and GDPR pages.
- SEO from day one: titles, descriptions, structured data, sitemap; security and performance settings.
- The old site was kept as an archive on a subdomain, hidden from search engines, so nothing was lost in the transition.
The result
The foundation manages its own content, prospective students can browse the courses comfortably on their phones, and the site loads in under a second. The whole project was in one pair of hands, from design to launch: development, content migration and training.
