EAGLE SOLUTIONS
I built the Segítő Kéz website from scratch on WordPress, working it out with the owner. A grieving family usually starts with a phone call, so every part of the site helps people find their way quickly and get in touch right away. The site has run on my server ever since, and I maintain it.
The challenge
Segítő Kéz has operated in Miercurea Ciuc since 2015, with further locations in Siculeni and Nicolești. People look for a funeral services company urgently and at a hard moment. So the site had to show two things fast: what the company does, and how to reach it straight away.
The solution
- A WordPress site built on the Salient theme and the WPBakery page builder, with custom settings.
- A "call us" button in the header on every page, and both phone numbers can be called with one tap on mobile.
- All services in one place, in 12 short blocks: from collecting the deceased, coffins, dressing and death notices to the paperwork for the state funeral allowance.
- A separate page on domestic and international repatriation, including obtaining the Romanian permits.
- Hungarian and Romanian, with a language switcher in the header.
- A photo gallery of coffins, accessories and the company's locations, so the family can see in advance what to expect.
The result
The site has been running for five years. It runs on my server, and I handle updates and smaller changes whenever the company asks. A Google review sums it up: "Working together was great. I recommend him."
A quiet look
On a funeral services site the design should stay out of the way. The home page shows a candle and a lily on a dark background, with a single sentence and two buttons. The colours are subdued; only the phone button gets a bright colour, because that is what people need to find first.
Clients in both languages
Around Miercurea Ciuc some families search in Hungarian and others in Romanian. The Romanian page has its own address, so it can show up in Romanian-language searches too.
